This course will focus on nationally known "movers and shakers" who hailed from Southern California. We will study and discuss (among others) two residents: Walt Disney and Howard Hughes, and two presidents: Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. We will view and discuss films about their works, and visit the two presidential libraries that are located right here in Southern California. Besides the obvious connections to history and social studies, this class can supplement English, science, P.E., art, music, or various other subjects.
